Oman and the United States are taking steps to enhance their economic and investment relations, focusing on expanding trade, supporting Omani exports, and attracting American investment. This initiative was highlighted during a meeting in Oman between Dr. Khamis Saif Al Jabri, Oman’s Minister of Economy, and representatives from the Oman Trade Office in the United States.

The discussions centered on the achievements of the Oman Trade Office, its future plans, and the challenges and opportunities for bolstering economic ties between the two nations. A key point of the meeting was the goal of increasing the access of Omani products to the US market and fostering new areas of trade cooperation.

The bilateral trade relationship between Oman and the United States is significant, with trade reaching approximately OMR 555.26 million by the end of July 2026. This figure highlights the robust exchange between the two countries, with major Omani exports to the US including chemicals and aluminum, while vehicles and transport equipment are among the primary US exports to Oman.

Efforts to attract American investments to Oman form a crucial part of the ongoing dialogue, as both countries look to deepen their economic partnership. The discussions also covered the development of strategies to overcome existing challenges and tap into new opportunities that could further strengthen economic cooperation.

The meeting underscores the commitment of both countries to enhance their economic interactions and is part of a broader strategy to ensure mutual benefits from increased trade and investment flows. By focusing on these areas, Oman and the United States aim to build a more dynamic and resilient economic relationship.
