Apple Executive Chair Tim Cook Awarded $47 Million Compensation Package

by admin477351

Tim Cook, who transitioned from Apple’s chief executive to the role of executive chair, has received a compensation package valued at approximately $47 million. This package consists of a base salary of $2 million, complemented by $45 million in shares. Notably, half of this stock award is contingent upon meeting specific performance targets, while the remaining shares are set to vest over a period of four years.

After stepping down from the CEO position, Cook passed the baton to John Ternus, a veteran Apple executive and previous head of hardware engineering. Ternus will now take the helm as CEO, with a compensation package that includes a $3 million base salary and a stock award worth $55 million. A significant portion of Ternus’s stock compensation is also tied to performance metrics.

During his time as Apple’s CEO, Cook’s compensation in 2025 exceeded $74 million. Under his leadership, Apple experienced tremendous growth, with its market capitalization soaring to around $4.7 trillion. As Cook assumes his new role as executive chair, his focus will shift towards managing Apple’s external affairs, particularly its relationships with governments, policymakers, and key international markets.

In his new capacity as CEO, Ternus will be responsible for steering Apple’s product strategy and overall operations. With a solid background in hardware engineering and a long history with the company, Ternus is poised to lead Apple into its next phase of innovation and growth.
