Oman and Tanzania are actively seeking to bolster trade and investment ties, with both nations exploring new business partnerships. A delegation from Oman’s Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion recently visited Tanzania for meetings with government officials, economic institutions, and members of the Tanzanian business community. These discussions aimed at identifying potential areas for economic collaboration and encouraging private-sector partnerships.
Ibtisam Ahmed Al Farooji, Undersecretary for Investment Promotion at Oman’s ministry, emphasized the importance of Tanzania as a strategic economic partner in East Africa. Oman is keen on expanding cooperation in sectors with high investment potential. The Omani delegation highlighted the country’s strategic location, robust infrastructure, and investment incentives, such as the Golden Residency Programme, which are appealing to international investors and support long-term business engagements.
During the visit, both sides explored opportunities for Omani companies to broaden their presence in African markets. Similarly, Tanzanian businesses were encouraged to engage with investment prospects in Oman. Officials stressed the need for enhanced communication between government bodies and private-sector representatives to facilitate the development of joint projects.
This visit is part of Oman’s broader strategy to expand its economic partnerships across Africa, reinforcing its long-standing relations with Tanzania. By fostering stronger ties, Oman aims to leverage its unique advantages to create mutually beneficial economic opportunities with Tanzania.
